Jeff Doucet, a man who kidnapped 11-year-old Jody Plauché, was caught in California after bringing Jody there and abusing him multiple times. He was then sent back to Louisiana to face a trial.
But instead of going to court, Doucet was confronted by Jody’s father, Gary Plauché, at the airport. In front of TV cameras, Gary shot Doucet in the head with a .38 revolver. A police officer, who was Gary’s friend, had to arrest Gary on the spot. When the officer asked, “Why, Gary, why’d you do it?” Gary calmly replied, “If someone did it to your kid, you’d do it too.”
