Yes, a few people but very few. One of the stairwells in the south tower stayed open after the plane hit, but nobody above impact survived the collapse. One was Brian Clark, who was a fire warden on his floor, so it was his responsibility to get everyone out. He guided them from the 84th floor down to the 81st floor when a woman came up warning them of fire and not to go downstairs. Brian and one of the officers workers on his floor heard someone calling for help on that floor so they stepped aside to help him while the rest of the group went upstairs and died. The worker Brian was with became overcome by the smoke and went upstairs with the rest of the group while Brian helped this man, Stanley Praimnath, get off his floor to safety. The officer worker who left Brian to join the rest of the group later gave up staying on that floor and decided to run, where he had actually ran down multiple flights of fire and severely burned himself. He exited the building only seconds before the collapse started. He was the last person to leave tower 2 alive. Nobody in tower 1’s impact area survived. Pictured here is Brian Clark running away from the World Trade Center after the tower collapsed.
Did anybody in the top floors of the World Trade Center (above where the plane crashed) survive 9/11?
