For the six years that Blake Fielder-Civil was with Amy Winehouse, first as a boyfriend and then as her husband of two years, the couple was arrested for assault, smoking crack, and possession. Though Winehouse’s mother described their affair as one of “pure” love, Fielder-Civil later blamed himself for Winehouse’s drug-fueled descent into self-harm. “I’m the only person that’s taken any responsibility,” Fielder-Civil said after Winehouse’s fatal overdose in 2011. “I introduced her to heroin, crack cocaine and self-harming. I feel more than guilty.”
