Alexandra Daddario made the decision to film a “tactical” nude scene in 2014. Her entire career was altered by that.
She has acted in films including San Andreas, Baywatch, and Why Women Kill in the recent years, and she currently stars in The White Lotus, a hot new series on Binge.
However, despite her increasing popularity as an actor, it wasn’t until a “tactical” choice she made in the 2014 season of True Detective that her career took off.
Daddario, who is now 35, was born and reared in New York’s Upper East Side by his attorneys Christina and Richard Daddario.
Of her three siblings, she is the oldest, and they are all actresses. (You might have noticed her brother Matthew Daddario in the second season of Why Women Kill).
At the age of 16, Daddario won her first acting part in the daytime soap opera All My Children. A few years later, she played Annabeth Chase in the fantasy action movie series Percy Jackson.
Although Daddario’s performance in the Percy Jackson movie has received a lot of attention, she claims that it was her much smaller role in True Detective that gave her career as an actress a boost.
Daddario addressed her struggles to be taken seriously as an actor in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter from 2020. She therefore took the strategic choice to compete for a part on the show.

“I remember really fighting for that role or any role in the series because I was at a blockade at that time in my career,” Daddario recalled.
“I remember struggling to be taken seriously, like every actor has, and not getting into audition rooms for roles I really thought I was right for.”
Daddario portrays Lisa Tragnetti, a court reporter who falls in love with Martin Hart, a character played by Woody Harrelson, in season one of True Detective.
