Probably the most bizarre instance of this is the ABBA star Agnetha Faltskog. A forklift truck driver called Gert Van Der Graaf first came to Faltskog’s attention in 1996, after he set up home a quarter of a mile from her in Ekero, west of Stockholm. Van Der Graaf was obsessed with the Dwedish beauty and effectively stalked her.
In a bizarre twist, Faltskog – who went through a terrible low point after a horrific car crash – started a relationship with her stalker and was with him for about 2 years before things turned toxic.
Not able to handle the break-up, Van Der Graaf bombarded the star with chilling messages and he was eventually issued with a restraining order and deported back to his native Holland 24 years ago.
