In July 2017, police came to check on Bruce Roberts because he hadn’t picked up his mail for weeks.
His house was surrounded by barbed wire and old cans, which he used as a simple security system. The door was locked from the inside. When police forced their way in, they saw piles of boxes, newspapers, bags, and trash all over the place, from floor to ceiling. They found Roberts dead, his body slowly breaking down, sitting over a warm radiator.
A year later, when cleaners came to clear out the house to sell it, they found something even more shocking — the mummified body of a man Roberts had killed 15 years before.
