Is Megan Fox really that pretty or do people overrate her appearance?

This is one of those things that’s tampered by a few mitigating factors.

The first mitigating factor is that it seems Megan Fox put her foot in her mouth a few times as a young, up and coming actress, which can be a bit off putting for people. I don’t remember much of it, and from what I remember, nothing she said seemed wrong, but this was pre-#metoo movement, and actresses had a lot less autonomy then. Going against moviemakers wasn’t a wise career move… I’m sorry, I worded that poorly. Sticking up for yourself, wasn’t a wise career move.

Another mitigating factor is that she wasn’t shy about how pretty she was, and humility paired with confidence is often considered more desirable in women, although it’s a very tough and fine line to walk.

She’s had tattoos her whole career, and although, I personally find tattoos attractive on women, a lot of people do not, and even less so in the mid 2000’s. We’ve become a lot more accepting of tattoos as a whole.

And lastly, she did that one thing that no actress is allowed to do in Hollywood: She aged.

Personally, I think she looks incredible now, and has aged far better than most “normal” women… by that, I mean, women who apparently haven’t been graced with Aphrodite’s genetics and longevity.

Her appearance changed a little, as people’s faces tend to do. She was about 20 years old when they filmed the first Transformers movie, and she had just about every desirable feature at the time. I’m only a few years behind Fox’s age, so to me, at the time, she was a goddess. She looked about my age, had that perfect amount of sex appeal, tampered with a bit of girl next-door, some snarky attitude, and her character was just wildly attractive. She has the perfect amount of freckles, sprinkled in the area that girls today artificially create through make up. She was incredibly fit, without the amount of bulky muscle that some men find unattractive. Great hour glass figure, great hair, blue eyes and dark hair with naturally pouty lips.

Like I said earlier, I’m only a little behind Fox in age, and I tend to look at women in their early 20’s as still childlike in appearance. It’s nothing against them, and I’m not saying they’re not mature, emotionally, or anything like that, but in terms of sexual attraction, most women in their early 20’s still just look far too young for me to think of that way. I’m often actually surprised to find out they’re of legal drinking age. I don’t know if it’s because she was my age when I watched these, and therefore, I subconsciously know that she’s older, but I still find her oozing with sex appeal in these pictures.

She might have had some work done. I don’t really know, and I don’t care enough to analyze individual features. Like most guys, I tend to appreciate the “whole package”, rather than focusing in on individual features that I like.

Are her looks overrated?

In what way? She definitely looks older than she did at 20, but who the hell doesn’t.

I’ve got a buddy… let’s call him Jeff. Jeff likes bigger women. He used to joke that “If she ain’t 180, she ain’t my lady.” It’s about thickness and curves to him. He tends to like women that look more like ancient fertility goddess statues than our current models of attraction. One day, we were together with the wives and they brought up attractive movie stars. I think the conversation came about because there was a funny meme that said “God confirms: Man crushes on Henry Cavill are totally not gay.” Anyway, our wives, knowing we have almost polar opposite taste in women asked who was a female celebrity we could agree upon as a total smoke show. I think “Megan Fox in Transformers” was the first thing we said. She was THAT pretty.

Anyone that says that Megan Fox isn’t, even to this day, is either lying to themselves or intentionally trying to undersell her beauty out of pettiness and jealousy. If that woman walked into a bar today, most people would still stop and ogle her. And I’m not a fan of the more artificial looking beauty trends that she appears to be following in the latest part of that first picture. But she’s still striking, and to deny that is just inane.

*** EDIT*** Or I guess it’s an addendum.

So, I looked up a picture of her in 2025, and I do see that she’s had QUITE a bit of obvious work done. That’s ashamed because that work has changed many those features that were so striking in her youth. I think she’d have aged very gracefully without those surgeries, but at the same time, it’s her body and I still argue that most guys that talk about how terrible she looks would still be lining up to buy her drinks in person. I see this all of the time with guys that will talk shit on a how a celebrity looks terrible, only to go hit on a much less attractive woman at a bar two hours later. While I get that she looks less attractive now than she did, or maybe other celebrities, there’s a a difference between movie pretty and regular, everyday pretty. That’s not to say that I’d want my wife to get the kinds of surgeries that Megan Fox has gotten, and if the conversation ever comes up (doubtful, because I am lucky enough to marry a woman that still gets carded closer to 40 than 21), I’d do everything in my power to dissuade her from that course of action. That being said, people keep… kind of vilifying her for what she’s done to herself. Again, not my ideal choice, but I don’t think she looks ugly now, AND it’s her body to alter as she sees fit. There’s a lot to argue there, and if you care enough to, I urge you to do so respectfully in the comments.
